We live in an ‘always-on’ world, where notifications, social media feeds and emails blur the lines between work and rest. In contrast, an increasing number of travellers are now craving the exact opposite: complete and utter disconnection. The rise of ‘unplugged’ and ‘digital detox’ escapes reflects a wider cultural shift: a desire to reconnect with ourselves and the world around us. As the concept moves into the mainstream, off-grid cabins and ‘no WiFi’ stays are emerging as an antidote to the fast pace of everyday life. Here, we’ve gathered some of our favourite Unplugged Cabins across the UK to inspire your next getaway.

Located on the edge of Bodmin Moor, Elsa is one of Unplugged’s off-grid cabins designed for travellers looking to take a proper break from screens and everyday noise. Like the rest of the Unplugged collection, guests are encouraged to lock their phones away on arrival and settle into a slower pace, with books, board games and the surrounding countryside providing the entertainment instead. The cabin itself sleeps two and includes a king-size bed positioned beside a large panoramic window, a wood burner for colder evenings, a compact kitchen and a private bathroom with a hot shower. Outside, Elsa also features a wood-fired hot tub and fire pit overlooking the Cornish countryside, making it an ideal base for quiet evenings under dark skies. Despite the remote setting, the cabin is within easy reach of Bodmin Moor’s walking routes and around a 40-minute drive from several North Cornwall beaches.
