We were honored to be asked to be a brand partner of the Gleneagles Townhouse and hotel and we jumped at the chance to kit out some of the Townhouse staff with uniforms and to be a brand partner of The Gleneagles Great Adventure Race. We provided each of the guests with some cozy Meander gear for after the race and we also entered our own Meander team!
The event was no ordinary adventure race as Gleneagles spoiled us with a glorious banquet of food (before, during and after the event), and treated us to an unforgettable experience. The race itself was made up of a 4km tandem kayak, a 16km run up and down a Munro followed by a 35km cycle to finish it all off.
For team Meander, Steve along with his good friend and SAS Who Dares Wins competitor James Gwinnett did a great job representing Meander! After a strong start on the canoe leg (coming in second) the boys eventually finished up in 6th place! Not a bad effort but best get in training and up your game for the next one!!
Tristan Cameron Harper, Zoe Macaulay, Jacob Mellish & Anna Deacon all joined us as the first Meander ambassadors. We’re delighted to have these special friends of the brand join and support us. Expect to see lots more from these guys next year.
Our good friend and actor Gordon, aka Scot Street Style starred in Nathan Evans "The Last Shanty", music video and was good enough to let Nathan borrow his original Meander Jacket which gave us a pleasant surprise when we saw the video! The music video is currently sitting at 5.8 million views on YouTube! If you haven’t seen it yet you can check it out here! It’s catchy :)
In another completely unexpected surprise, we were delighted to hear that our partnership with Virgin Hotel was announced by none other than Sir Richard Branson posting about us on his Linkedin!
A few of our products are in Virgin’s Curiosity Shop within the hotel in the old town of Edinburgh and it’s been great to see so many of the guests coming down to visit us at the store.
To kick the summer off we hosted the Tens Good Vibes Summer Party at our store in Spitalfields. The event proved to be a great night with old friends and new friends enjoying good times as well as delicious cocktails from 3 Ravens and the lovely folk from Feragaia keeping hangovers at bay with their non alcoholic mocktails!
We launched the limited edition Westons with proceeds donated to the Marine Conservation Society.
After many months deliberating on what the Meander logo could/should be, our co-founder, Steve finally nailed it! We knew we wanted a small something our community would recognize and all the team agreed the Squiggle was it!
Looking down from the Glen Doherty viewpoint the squiggle represents the Meandering road on the NC500 and it’s already started appearing on some of our products…. Keep your eyes peeled for it.
In autumn we added some new products to the Meander collection with the launch of three brand new waterproof jackets, our new 1/4 Zip Tech tops, and our super soft scarves. The original Meander Jacket which launched the brand back in 2018 was upgraded to a fully recycled version with various improvements made to enhance the quality.
Black Friday for the second year running was not supported in the traditional sense. Taking our own spin on the event, we donated 10% of our weekends sales to the Marine Conservation Society. Thank you to everyone who supported this.
Some exciting news you may have seen on our socials is that Meander was presented with a Scottish Edge award, winning the STV category! We are absolutely delighted and proud of all of the team who helped make this happen. It’s such an encouraging step for the brand as we look forward to the new year and we can’t wait to launch our ad this year!
Jill, Steve and the Meander Team.
