Scotland is arguably one of best places in the world to enjoy the outdoors and get closer to nature, and one of the most popular ways to do this is through camping. However, sometimes our camping hols aren't always what they're cracked up to be, and we can leave them with the desperation for a good night's sleep and a dodgy back. The solution? Glamping. The best of both worlds. Think nature on your doorstep (or in this case we should say tent entrance), but with all the luxuries of home. Comfy king-size beds, wood-fired hot tubs, and even flushing loos, here are some of our favourite glamping spots in Scotland.

Glendye Cabins

Location: Glen Dye Estate Office Bridge of Dye Steading, Strachan, Banchory, AB31 6LT

Set amongst private woodland, the Glendye Cabins Campsite is clamping, elevated. With spots to pitch your own tent, or the option of a safari tent or 1950s caravan to lay your head for the night, it’s up to you how much you want to “rough it”. The star of the show is the open kitchen, fully equipped with a great pizza oven and “show-stopping” barbecue, making it the ideal spot for summer cooking sessions, closely followed by the wood-fired hot tub. Located in Banchory, Glendye provides for a fantastic base if you’re keen to explore Cairngorms National Park, stroll along the River Dee, or enjoy the stunning North East Scotland coastline.
